Vector Index AI AI Search Intelligence

For specialty retailers, online stores and showrooms

AI can recommend the product you sell. And send the buyer somewhere else.

If your store is missing from the answer, that shopper may never see your products, compare your service or give you a chance to win the order.

A generic business website drawn as layered glass panels in a sunlit stone pavilion above a valley of cloud.

The AI Shortlist Blueprint for Retailers investigates which stores get recommended for the products you sell. Then it gives your team three priority changes and a 30-day game plan to help your store compete for those buying decisions, with the wording or instructions to act.

$750, paid once. Your written Blueprint within five business days of submitting your intake form, or a full refund.

The sale you never get a chance to compete for

A shopper asks ChatGPT which refrigerator will fit their kitchen and where to buy it. Or which camera to buy for their child’s first season of sports.

If the answer points to another store and the shopper buys there, you lose the chance to win that order.

They may never compare your advice, delivery or support, or even reach your website. You can carry the right product and still be left out of the buying decision.

This route to a purchase is growing. Across the US retail sites it analyzed, Adobe measured 62% more AI-referred visits in July 2026 than in July 2025. Source: Adobe data reported by Digital Commerce 360, August 2026.

You want your store in the conversation while the shopper is choosing where to spend.

We investigate whether shopping answers put your store forward, which sellers appear instead, and how clearly your public pages explain your reasons to buy. The result is a specific plan to help your team get those advantages in front of shoppers.

Give your team a plan to compete for those orders

Your stock, expertise or installation service can be a reason to choose you. The work is to make those advantages clear when someone is deciding what to buy and who to buy it from.

Before paying for another category page or approving a batch of content, get three priorities tied to that decision. Each includes:

  • The exact page, product or field to work on. Your team knows where to start.
  • The evidence and the shopper’s problem. You can see why that change deserves attention.
  • Ready-to-use wording or a technical specification. Your provider gets a defined assignment.
  • An owner, dependencies and a completion check. You can tell whether the work was done as intended.

The 30-day game plan puts those changes in order, with weekly actions and a baseline to compare at the included 90-day recheck.

For example, if installation is a reason to choose you but your delivery page leaves the coverage area unclear, a priority could supply the revised wording, identify the page to change and show your team how to check it against your actual policy. The assignment follows what we find.

You bring the knowledge of your products and customers. We do the investigation and prepare the plan. Your team or provider makes the changes.

The same store appeared for one buying question and disappeared for another

In a recent sample, we tested ChatGPT answers for specialty retailers. Two examples:

The appliance specialist.

When the question asked where to buy a particular refrigerator brand from an authorized dealer, the store appeared in two of three answers. When the question asked where to buy a refrigerator with delivery and installation in its city, all three answers named national chains. The specialist was not named.

The camera specialist.

Asked three times which mirrorless camera a beginner should buy for kids’ sports and where to buy it, ChatGPT recommended a model and pointed to large retailers or the manufacturer’s store. The camera specialist we checked was not named in any of those three answers.

That is why we check buying questions without handing the answer your store’s name. We also check questions that do name your store, so you can see whether its details are accurate.

Method note: These are anonymized observations from ChatGPT’s API with web search on, not the consumer ChatGPT app. The examples each use three runs per question on one evening. Your Blueprint investigates your own products and market.

“They also provided us with clear insight into gaps in our GEO and how to fix them.”

The following review is from a service-business owner about an earlier audit.

Vector Index AI was extremely helpful because it showed us that while our company does come up in AI searches when we are mentioned specifically (we thought our GEO presence was a lot stronger), once you deviated from a direct search by name and started asking more indirect questions about the services we provide, we were virtually nonexistent. They also provided us with clear insight into gaps in our GEO and how to fix them. I cannot recommend Vector Index AI highly enough.

What your $750 includes

  1. A game plan built around one retail category.

We focus on up to five products and the US shipping area or showroom region you want to serve.

  2. Three changes your team can get to work on.

Each says what to change, where to change it, what to write or build, who should handle it, what must happen first and how to check the work. The 30-day plan puts the assignments in order and records the baseline to beat at recheck.

  3. 25 shopping and store-accuracy questions, selected by us.

The planned mix covers choosing a product and seller, where to buy, and the accuracy of information about your store. We select and fix the questions before sampling.

  4. Repeated checks across five named sources.

We make 500 planned attempts: four repeats of each question across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity through their APIs, plus Google searches recording an AI Overview when one appears. We report failed attempts and searches without an AI Overview.

  5. A clear distinction between being mentioned and being recommended.

You see which products appear, whether your store is named, whether it is recommended as a place to buy, where links lead, and which competing sellers appear.

  6. A review of up to ten relevant public pages, plus cited sources.

Selected product, category, buying-advice, policy and location pages all fit within that ten-page limit. We connect the sampled answers and cited information to the changes we recommend.

  7. Help after delivery.

Up to ten questions about the report within 14 days, plus an optional 20-minute walkthrough in that window.

  8. A 90-day recheck.

Five original questions, four repeats each across the same five sources. You receive a short comparison, including if the sample shows no improvement.

Clear protections on the work you are buying

Five business days or a full refund.

Your written Blueprint is due within five business days of submitting your intake form. If we miss that deadline, we initiate a full refund.

Cancel for a full refund before submitting your intake form.

There is no time limit before submission. After you submit, the delivery and already-recommended protections still apply.

Already your shoppers’ top pick on the first pass? We stop and refund you.

If every answer to every question asking where to buy already makes your store its top pick for where to buy, there is nothing for us to fix: we stop and refund the full fee. Top pick means the store the answer names first among the sellers it recommends, or the one it explicitly chooses as the best place or where it would buy. Being listed further down, a mention, a citation or a dealer listing alone does not count. This includes product-choice questions that also ask where to buy; store-accuracy checks are excluded.

These protections cover the investigation and delivery. Future recommendations, traffic, orders and revenue are not guaranteed. Read the full terms.

Questions before you start

Will this get us more orders?

More customers choosing your store is the business goal. The Blueprint gives your team an evidence-backed plan to pursue it. Orders also depend on demand, stock, price, fulfillment and the changes you implement. We do not predict or guarantee a sales increase.

Why pay $750 when I can ask ChatGPT myself?

You can, and trying a buying question yourself is a useful start. The paid work is the investigation behind your next decision: selecting relevant questions, repeating them across five sources, checking the pages and cited information, and turning findings into three defined assignments. You receive a plan your provider can work from.

We already have an SEO agency or web team.

They can implement the plan. The Blueprint gives you a defined assignment to commission and a written brief to hand over. If your team already does this investigation and has a clear plan in place, you may not need a separate Blueprint.

We sell nationwide and don’t have a showroom. Can we use it?

Yes. For online retailers, the market is your US shipping area. For showroom businesses, it is one named region. Both versions cover one category, up to five products and one main website, in English.

Does our ecommerce platform matter?

The investigation uses public pages and recorded answers. Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento and custom websites can fit. You do not need to move platforms or give us store-admin access for this scope.

Does it cover our entire catalog or fix our product feeds?

It covers one category, up to five products and up to ten relevant public pages. Whole-catalog repair, feed changes, Merchant Center account work and implementation are outside this purchase.

Is this measuring the ChatGPT app or Google Shopping?

The measurements use four model APIs and Google results pages with AI Overviews when returned. They do not measure the consumer ChatGPT app, Google Shopping or Google AI Mode, and do not reproduce every shopper’s personalized answers.

We compare the recorded answers with your pages and cited sources to check store details and identify buying questions your information leaves unanswered. Those findings guide the work we recommend to your team.

What if the first pass already recommends us everywhere it checks?

If every first-pass answer to every buying question makes your store its top pick for where to buy, the full-refund protection above applies. When the results are mixed, the report records both what is working and the opportunities the evidence supports.

Help shoppers find your store before they buy somewhere else
